Rosalie Messner – December 4, 2013

Hallway
Hallway outside Rosalie’s hospital room.

Rosalie Messner

Rosalie had her hip replaced today. In reality they replaced the ball on the end of her femur that goes into the hip. All went really well, and she will be walking tomorrow with a walker, and be home by Friday. This was shot around 7:30pm, her surgery was at approx 3pm and was complete at approx 5pm. She was, and is doing really good.

Rosalie’s 75th Birthday Party – February 10, 2013

Mom & Dad

Tom and Rosalie Messner at Rosalie’s 75th Birthday Party, at her daughter Sheri’s house. Approx 60-70 people showed up to enjoy the open house, food catered by Olive Garden, Lasagna, 5 Cheese Ziti, Cheese Ravioli, Fettuccine Alfredo, and of course salad and bread sticks. Jaz’s cake was excellent! Everyone seemed to have a good time, and commented on how good Mom looked. The only ones missing were her sister Sherry, and her brother Art. We missed you guys.  The weather semi cooperated, it did not rain, and it was fairly warm, (mid 50’s). Tom brought his outdoor stainless steel tower propane heater and it was quite toasty out on the patio. As always I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife’s family. Her brother Mark and I were best friends in high school, and the family joke is that I married his sister to become part of his family. I had a chance to sit out back and talk in depth with Mark, and Jeff. I think we were able to solve many, if not all of the worlds problems.  The Open House was from 1-4 pm, and the party broke up around 9pm. I shot 100+ pictures during the party. It seems like everyone enjoyed the day. The entire gallery (115 pictures) can be seen here.

Rosalie’s Birthday Cake – February 9, 2013

Rosalies B-day Cake

This is the cake Jaz made for Rosalie’s 75th Birthday party. The top layer was white cake, and the bottom layer was chocolate. Covered in home made fondant, and decorated with fondant flowers, and the pearls are “pearled Sixlets”, which is essentially candy coated chocolate balls. Shot Febuary 9, 2013 with the Canon 5D Mark II, 17-40mm L glass at 40mm, ISO-400, F4, 1/80 sec, with camera mounted 580 EX II strobe. Shot in raw, and processed in Lightroom.

The Messners – January 26, 2013

The Messners

I DO believe in the power of prayer! I can give you multiple examples of God answering prayers in my life. God really and truly amazes me on a daily basis. Having said that: Rosalie woke up yesterday morning, the breathing apparatus has been removed, and she is up out of the hospital bed sitting in a chair. They want to get her up and walking later on today, or tomorrow. She had asked Sherry and Sheri Lynn to help her with her hair, and put on some makeup. Roe was asking for some Jello! These are all really good things! Some, including me would say “A Miracle”! Praise God! Rosalie, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Get Well Soon!

This picture is most of the Messners. Tom and Roe’s clan. Shot December 25, 2011. Canon 30D with a 580EXII on camera triggering 2 580EXII’s off camera, one to the left, and one to the right.

Rosalie Messner – January 25, 2013

Mom&Dad

So the title of this post could be “Everybody Loves Ray”, or “Mom & Dad”, or “Thomas and Rosalie Messner”. Why the different titles? Because Tom and Roe are my in-laws, they live across the street and down one house. Mom & Dad, that one comes from love and respect. Rosalie would do anything for you. A lot of the qualities that I love in my beautiful wife came from her mother. On February 5th, she will be 75 years young. Roe is in intensive care after surgery for a lung filled with infection from having pneumonia. The surgeon said recovery would be 2-3 days in ICU, then a couple of weeks in the hospital. Tom and Roe have 4 children, lots of grandchildren, and great grandchildren who are all praying for her speedy recovery. Get Well Soon! We Love You Mom!
