Brick Wall … backdrop – May 8, 2013

brick wall backdrop

So I was thinking about purchasing some more backgrounds. I have a solid black and white muslin, also a red and a blue background. I really wanted something with some depth, some texture to it. For whatever reason, I decided to make a background, a hand painted “brick” wall. This image was shot May 8, 2012 once the background had dried, and aired out for a couple of days.

Mallard Duck – May 6, 2013

Mallard

Goldwater Lake just out of Prescott, AZ. As an after thought, I took a cople of pictures of of the ducks on the lake, right by the dock. Batching the pictures through LightRoom, I noticed how sharp the photos of the ducks were. The sun, clear water, (see both feet), the droplets on the ducks head, the extreme detail of the feathers make this image one that I’m excited to say that “I took”. Shot on Saturday 5/04/2013. LightRoom used to convert the image to jpeg, ONLY. No enhancements. Canon 5D Mark II, ISO-50, F8, 1/200 sec, the 24-105 mm F4, L, IS lens is tack sharp.  Canon Speedlight 580 EX II on camera for flash fill.

Cinco De Mayo – May 5, 2013

Randy

OK, its not like I dont have any photographs of mexican food. I love mexican food. Really. Its more like I’m running the first batch of pictures from the weekends mens retreat through Lightroom, and I know Randy wanted a new facebook profile picture. Shot at the mens retreat, at Goldwater Lake just outside of Prescott, AZ. Fifty of us fishing……… not a single nibble. Talk about a fish story. Canon 5D Mark II, ISO – 100, F4, 1/1000 sec, 105mm, Canon Speedlight 580 EX-II camera mounted for flash fill – set to high speed sync.

Car Pool – May 4, 2013

Mens Retreat 1

Glenn, (yes 2 N’s), Randy, Andy, and James. We carpooled to and from the mens retreat. Randy drove, and we took the back way in, up through Yarnell, a beautiful drive. On the way home we stopped for a traditional picture at Sunset Point, arguably the most popular rest stop in Arizona. The rest of the mens retreat images can be seen here.  Canon 5D Mark II, ISO-100, F11, 24mm, 1/200 sec, Canon Speedlight 580 EX-II camera mounted for fill.

Angie & Jordan – May 2, 2013

Angie & Jordan 11

Jazmin is my second shooter at weddings. She captured this emotionally charged scene, as Angie approaches Jordan in her wedding dress. Jordan is with me, and I’ve just had him turn around. He sees his bride for the first time in her wedding dress.  I love this series of images. You could feel the love Jordan and Angie have for each other during this 10-15 minutes. Thanks again for allowing us to be a part of your special day. I’m cheating a little, by posting this series as 3 different posts. I photoshopped out the other photographer, (me). Shot with the Canon 30D, ISO-100, F8, 38mm, 1/250 sec, with a Canon speedlight 580 EXII camera mounted for flash fill.
